Thing 11 of 23

Comments are what keep online communities together. I kind of dreaded receiving my first comments. I did not know what to expect. As far as commenting myself, if the blog is interesting I have no problem. My concern with students is the possibility for inappropriate comments causing fights.

  1. I think most students would not publish inappropriate comments on a teacher's blog. Although it is common on Facebook, when I have been looking at different teacher blogs, I think the students are leaving very insightful comments. Good Luck!

  2. I just attended an inservice and began a class blog on kidblog.org. You can control the settings so that you see all comments before they post. You can see all original posts, too, if you want. Our presenter said that he's had 5 class blogs this school year and only had one comment he didn't post. It's free and doesn't require the students' email addresses.
